If the moors of Scotland and northern England, as well as the North Sea Islands, are on your list this is your trip! Full of history, beautiful hikes, tea shops in quaint villages, sea birds and seals galore!
Our second Team Long Run Trek to northern England follows St. Cuthbert's Way, (Northumberland, UK) from Galashiels, Scotland to Lindisfarne (Holy Island) on the Northumbria coast. It's a beautiful walk through rolling forests and farmland, some sections along the Tweed River, and across the Cheviot Hills. We walk through perfect villages, and see plenty of castles (both ruined and largely intact). There are a lot of images online that show the sights along the way, so please take a look! We'll also visit Bamburgh Castle, take a boat ride out to the Farne Islands, and stay in the coastal town of Seahouses. Our hotels will be the Collingwood Arms in Cornhill-on-Tweed, (https://collingwoodarms.com) and The St. Aidan (http://staidanhotel.co.uk) in Seahouses. We've timed it to catch the best weather, as well as puffins and dolphins.
Our TREKS are becoming known for being user-friendly so let us know you’re interested and we’ll stay in touch as we plan!
From all of us at Team Long Run,
Chuck and Hilary Wilcoxen
