Iceland's Ring Road Trek
September, 2021
In September of 2021, our group was one of the first to fly into Keflavik, Iceland, after Covid restrictions were eased.
We transferred into Reykjavik, enjoyed the Golden Circle tour, and then headed out for an ambitious circuit of Iceland’s famous Ring Road. We went clockwise, hitting the west coast first hiking and touring the Snaefellsness Peninsula and Kirkenfell. From there we worked our way up through the fjords to hike and explore Akureyri, Myvatn, Egilsstadir, Skaftafell, Jokulsarlon, Vik, Skogar, and then back to Reykjavik. The entire Ring Road is about 830 miles, so you can imagine that between waterfalls, volcanoes, beaches, glaciers, and reindeer we spent some time getting to know each other on the road!

Trekking with us supports Team Long Run financially and gives us a chance to get to know each other. A modest portion of the trip cost (any net profits) goes directly to fund TLR kids’ programs throughout the year.

We’re thrilled to announce our newest lineup of immersive travel experiences in 2026, featuring Utah, Iceland, the Pyrenees, and a brand-new Maine Coast color tour in the fall. We’ve teamed up with Kelly, a friend and colleague who owns Olive Group Travel, to offer these trips as "philanthropic travel" opportunities. 100% of our net proceeds go to Team Long Run's youth programs!
